Hummingbot is an open-source Python framework that enables users to deploy automated trading strategies across centralized exchanges (CEXs) and decentralized exchanges (DEXs). The framework supports market-making and arbitrage strategies. Governance and development coordination are managed by the Hummingbot Foundation through a bounty system and partnerships with exchange providers. The core architecture consists of modular strategy components that connect to exchange APIs, with execution occurring through bot instances deployed by algorithmic traders and market makers to provide liquidity. The system offers deployment options including a local Docker-based client and a cloud-deployable API. An associated orchestration layer called Condor enables management of multiple trading agents. The project includes an associated governance token (HBOT).
