About BTX

BTX is a proof-of-work Layer 1 blockchain with a fixed supply of 21 million units. The protocol incorporates post-quantum cryptography using a signature scheme designated P2MR. The mining mechanism, called MatMul, directs computational resources toward matrix-multiplication workloads executable on CPUs and accelerators. Hardware used for mining can be repurposed for general-purpose tasks including AI model execution and numerical computations outside the mining context. The architecture differs from Bitcoin by combining monetary scarcity with this dual-use compute model. The project provides a browser-based self-custody wallet, node software, chain snapshots for rapid synchronization, and signed release artifacts distributed via GitHub.
