Align Network

Align was developed to address the limitations of on-chain metadata for badges, NFTs, and Soulbound Tokens (SBTs). Recognizing that many complex use cases required richer data than could be efficiently stored on-chain, Align developed a solution to bridge the gap. This led to the creation of their v1 offering: an off-chain metadata IPFS pinning service.

Align's service allows for the storage of complex metadata off-chain, leveraging IPFS for decentralized storage. Critically, this metadata is then registered on-chain, ensuring a verifiable link between the token and its associated information. This on-chain registration occurs under a defined type, providing structure and clarity to the metadata.

This approach enables a variety of use cases, including NFT whitelists and the creation of Uniswap v4 pools. By combining the efficiency of off-chain storage with the security and verifiability of on-chain registration, Align provides a practical solution for projects requiring complex metadata management for their digital assets.
